Ferry from End of Austral to Ushuaia
 

Anyone know if there is a ferry from Puerto Aisen to Punta Arenas? I know there is a one from Puerto Montt, but I want to ride the Carretera Austral. Heard there is a way of getting a ferry from the end of Austral down to Punta Arenas.

Seems that there is no direct connection. (Check NAVIMAG), The only by ferry option is back from aysen to Pto. Montt and then to Punta Arenas.

Is better to do carretera austral, then ruta 40 (Argentina), and then arrive to Punta Arenas.

By the way i´ll be riding the Carretera Austral next FEB 08

My logic was to do Austral then return along Ruta 40 thereby avoiding Ruta 3. and keeping it a lot more interesting. guess i can always get a ferry back to Pt Montt and take the other one down then . Nice photos on your site by the way,
