Entre Rios Argentina police
I've read about these guys on Horizons in the past, so knew what to expect. Information is Power! (Thanks, Horizons Unlimited!)
There's a police checkpoint about 90k's north of Concordia, where the police tried to fine us yesterday for not carrying fire extinguishers. They made us come into the office, and demanded cash. I likewise demanded the boss's name, number and a receipt if we paid, which I said we'd be taking to the police office in Buenos Aires. Instant backdown! He quickly handed back our documents and sent us on our way. There´s a fake öfficial¨document somewhere on Horizons that you can make them fill in, but it's not necessary, any bluff looks like it will work. (And if you want to add some fun to the occasion, pat the police dog, it really pisses them off because they´re trying to look tough and intimidating!) It was all a great piece of theatre, and the junior officer out on the road was having a good laugh by the time we left. ------------------ http://homepage.mac.com/gforbes3/ |

Hi
Only to remind the old topic about police here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000432.html Grant Remember than the worst police check point is just before to cross from Entre Rios and BA province. Just in the beginning of the big bridges Zarate - Brazo Largo going south, after here is rare if some police stop you. If you hurry, on this Saturday lunch time we will make an “asado” (barbecue) on my workshop/hostel to say bye to this year with all my bikers friends and all the travellers here, you and others around are invited!!! See you soon Javier & Sandra….. www.dakarmotos.com |
