engine rebuild KLR $$?
 

So i've lined up a KLR650 in BA for december a 2004 model winth about 30-40,000 miles on it. My main concern is the works possible case sanario of having to out the bike through a full engine rebuild. My question on this matter is, what would this cost? im away the price would differ from chile to bolivia to argentina ... but a rougth guide would help.

Depends on the engine; if it has been well looked after, might not need any work; may need new top end - about $800 for the bits plus labour but easy enough to do. Also worth doing the doohickey - about $100 for the metal plus the toil. Consider a 685 cc kit rather rebuilding stock. Check out KLR650.net for sources and advice.
