El Estor Guatemala
 

Hi, I'm planning on leaving for GT on march 19 and as I do some research it turns out there is some kind of trouble in el estor with a Canadian mining company kicking out the locals from there land around Jan. 8th.
I was planning on passing right by this town from Lanquin to rio dulce. To avoid it would add 160 miles (=255 miles) going around .
Has anybody been there recently or know if it's safe for an American to stay or pass through the area.
