Do you need a Padron to Cross from Chile into Argentina???
 

Some mates of mine have recently purchased bikes in Santiago(an04 XT600 and an 09 KLR650) and have done all the transfer stuff and waited at least five days, as advised by all you helpful people out there, to go to a Registro Civil and get their Padrons printed.They were told at the Registro Civil(by a guy who spoke fluent English) that they DEFINATELY do not need a padron and that the Solicitud De Transferencia is all they need to cross the border etc.

Is this the case,or is this guy full of sh#t??
