Do I really need a return flight for a Visa ???

As always, im leaving it to the last minute when its too late to worry about all the paper work and legality of things :D

Well, iv got a one way ticket into Argentina from the UK with the bike going on a ship next week...

Now, some people are telling me that I need a return ticket in order to get a visa in Argentina and some are telling me that I dont...

Anyone got first hand experience of this ?

Cheers all !!

P.S. Just googled it and Argentina | Travel Visas and Passport Guide says I dont need a Visa but need a return flight..

No, you dont.

At last!!

You are on the way...

When I flew into BsAs almost 3 years ago to the day, the check in dolly was very surprised that I had no return ticket and no visa. I nervously quoted "The Rough Guide to Argentina", to her and she made some phone calls. She then said, "do you have $50 a day for your entire stay?". "NO" says I, but a credit card seemed to reassure her. Flying numerous times into Colombia, they always ask if I have a return flight. I always say yes, and sometimes they check - if you have an e-ticket with another airline, just doctor it a bit. Oh, another time flying from Cuba to Colombia, they asked for my "onward" ticket. I showed them the paperwork for stranded bike and they were happy enough. I hope this helps or maybe it confuses - just leave plenty of time for check in, (3 hours +), explain if you have to and I'm sure all will be alright.

Give me the nod when you reach Colombia.

Buena Suerte

Nah, nah, nah...not the connecting flight - he´s screwed with that one anyway.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Don't tell me they want a return flight before I board the plane in France. Like said, iv only got 55 mins between flights..

Please don't say that ! :confused1:

I check in for both flights in Manchester so Ill get there about 9 hours early just to be sure.

I was thinking of taking a Valium on the 14 hour flight to BA. I get fidgety and restless on the 50 minute flight to Amsterdam for gods sake. Good idea ?? hmm maybe not.

My longest flight yet is 8 hours and I was going INSANE with boredom and restlessness. There's only so many times you can try and read past page 23 of Jupiter's travels without giving up due to frustration.

Perhaps you should read One Man Caravan , I'm two thirds the way through it and he[ Robert Fulton] has been thrown into jail 2 dozen times so far , it's a rivetting read .It should make long flights less boring .
But don't leave it around where your mum can pick it up and read it , she will worry about you .

I emailed the British Consulate in Buenos aires..

There reply was:

"Edward,

This is for the Argentine authorities to advise. But as far as I'm aware, as long as they're happy that you are going to leave the country and have some sort of proof of this, that should be OK.
