Daily cost of living in South America ??
 

Apologies if this has previously been covered but im trying to sort out a budget for travelling the whole of South America. What do you guys think ill spend on AVERAGE per day. There are two of us wanting to do it on a shoestring but not totally slumming it..We have out own bikes and equipment but need ideas of daily living/traveling costs.

Hard to say what it will cost you, it depends mainly on the following factors:

- Accomodation: Will you sleep in the tent all the time, on camping sites or free camping? Going to hostels?
- Driving and bike: Which distance will you drive on an average day, will you drive every day? -> Fuel consumption
- Food: In some countries it's cheaper to eat in road restaurants, but in some other it's cheaper to prepare your own food
- Transport: Do you need to ship your bike somewhere, take a plane, shipping? Will you add this to your daily cost or another budget? :-)
