Cocktails in Cartageña

Any riders in Cartageña fancy some sundowners and moon uppers? Bloody hell, it's hot, hot, hot. Ride safe.

OK, due to the lack of takers for sophisticated drinking, I am prepared to sacrifice bibulous integrity and drink beer. Ride safe.

Cartagena is one of those places where A/C is totally worthwhile. I had trouble sleeping even directly under a whirling fan in the hostel, but did better once four of us joined up to rent an apartment for a few days.

Mike, I don't even know what sundowners are, but I'll buy you one in Cienfuegos (while I nurse a beer). Still going that way? How are you planning to stay busy between now and then?

I would but still don't get on the boat until the 8th. If still around after that for sure. Whatever those drinks are you are talking about.

And yes it is ok to drink alonejeigerjeiger

Many thanks for all your advice and support apropos maintaining the steady demise of my hepatic organ. It is very hard to drink alone in Cartageña, my estacion de beber of choice is under the big tree just down from the local bus terminal in Getsemani, one of the best people watching places around and more importantly amongst the cheapest. In answer to your 'Q' Mark, off soon to have a look at the west side of Venezuela before returning to Cartageña to board the Stahlratte for Cuba. As regards 'sundowner' it's a British term for a drink taken at cease work when the sun sets. The term 'moon upper' was a variant of 'sun downer', used to allow socially acceptable tea time tippling during the days of the British Empire on which, as we all know, the sun never set and if it wasn't it should have been. Hope to see you start of Feb. Ride safe.
