BR-319 Manaus to Porto Velho..is it open?
 

Hi....any advice?

Currently Simon and I are in Salvador doing a few jobs on the bikes. Whilst here Im doing some research on the BR-319 Manaus to Porto Velho. The last information Ive been able to find is that the govenment was going to pave this road.
Does anyone have any up to date information on this as we aim to take the boat from Belem to Manaus but would rather ride from Manaus to Porto Velho.
To date all I hear is that the road is closed and that it would be ´´impossible´to ride it!

any information on this would be great..and anything I find out I´ll post up.

We only heared that a french guy past through about three weeks ago and a a couple of bridges are damaged or washed away! We don`t know anything really but the road should be open, thats the only thing we know (have heared)!
But we will be ahead of you and we will post it when we know more!
