Boa Vista to Manaus
 

Hi Guys,
For your trip planning: Road partly in excellent condition, but sections of bad tire-slashing, and rim-bending potholes. So, never relax. But you can do the 500 some miles in one day. No roses to smell along the way. Do your smelling in Manaus. Gas stations every 100 miles or shorter, but only low octane.

If you are going the other way ie from Manaus you need to be very watchful that you end up on the right road. Just after leaving Manaus, once you get out of the built up area there is a big police check that kind of hides the fact that there is a turning to the right! There are no signs to help out - get it wrong and you'll go for another 40 miles before the attendant at the petrol station gives you the bad news.

My Venezuelan friends (with GPS) also got this wrong so watch out!!
