BMW 1150 GS oil filters
 

I thought this topic would have been covered but maybe I just didn’t use the correct search terms (or its not a problem).

I’ll be heading down to SA from the US on an 1150 GS. What do most people do for replacing the oil filter? With 15k – 30k miles a few oil changes would be needed and with space a premium, you wouldn’t want to carry many.

I’ve thought about getting one of the Scott reusable oil filters. They’re expensive, but you wouldn’t need to worry about finding a filter every time you want to change to oil.

Some might disagree but IMHO, if you the change the filter every other time you change the oil, you'll be OK. Also BMW dealers in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama will have filters. Take 1 just for
peace of mind.
