Bike rental in Santigo

Has anybody out there rented a bike in Santiago?
I get there in April & have only about a week, but fancy getting out on 2 wheels.
If anybody has experiences they can share (good or bad!)
then I would be grateful. D

A friend rented a KTM from Southern Cross with no problems. Not cheap.

I have spoken to a guy who has a wider selection who seems pretty good.

I have his contact info at home in Santiago and can post Thursday when I get back from the south.

We rented from Ivan on our first moto trip to S.A. in 2004.
This is a side line for Doctor Reyes and he is a very avid rider.
If you can get him to take you on a day ride of the area, by all
means do it.
He had very nice bikes and will take care of all the paper work you
need to cross borders.

Twist it, Max

bike rental in Santiago

I rented a KTM 640 I think it was in 2007 for 30 days. I paid about $1600 for the 30 days. I did not think it was that bad as I put on 10,000 km and wore out the chain, both chain rings, both tires, and needed oil and filters changed. I was not happy with the age of the bike when I got there as it had about 50,000 km on it. They had new tires and chain and chain rings on it so it was in as good of shape as you could ask for but still lots of km on it and I had some electrical problems with the bike. It was rented from Ktm OF Chile. They rent most of their bikes further south at their other office so they just were out of newer bikes.

Thanks for the reply. Have found a company called
Moto Aventura in Osorno. Will post to recommend, or
otherwise.

MotoAventura in Osorno/Santiago

I think you chose well. We didn't rent bikes from them, but we stopped by their place in Osorno for some spare parts. The owner, Roberto, was very very helpful and he and his mechanics (who I trusted way more then any mechanic at BMW) helped us solve solve problems in an affordable way.

Anyway, it seemed like he was running his business the right way

have a great trip!

bike renatal - Chile

Moto Aventura were fantastic - great bike (brand new) well prepared, very friendly & helpful. They went out of their way to help with booking a car & a hostel after we had returned the bike. 100% recommended.
