Bike License query for riding in South America

Hi HUBB users,
Im a Travel Photographer / Writer and at the beginning of Nov im due to leave the UK and embark upon a 6month motorbike adventure around South America. Santigao, Chile – Ushuai – Buenos Aires – Icuaza Falls then North to Bolivia – Peru – Ecuador – Columbia then who knows. I like to be pretty free and go with the flow.

So another of my many questions is regarding my bike license...

I currently have a license to ride 125cc Motorbike in England (on English license). Im obtaining my international drivers license for use abroad. I have ridden larger bikes upto 400cc before in Asia but i don’t have a License which states that im qualified.
If i purchased a 250cc or 400cc bike in Chile would i get in trouble in south America without having the full UK license?
If so what would be likely to happen?
I could photoshop my license with my dads full bike license – plausible maybe?

Any help would be gratefully received.
Cheers,
Eddie

You can photoshop your
license but is not legal if you stopped or hurt on your bike or hit any one you may find your self going to jail. Many are not as nice as the jails you have back home.

Your best bet is just buy the bike and ride it it may not matter to people in SA. Or get your license ans do it all legal.

Think about do you like the idea of people that do not have a license drive around your home.
