Bike friendly in Lima, Peru

Hi guys,
I'm going on a trip around south america this year, I'll be there in about 5 to 6 weeks from now. After a fews months travelling, I will have to come back to europe for 3 to 4 weeks for personal reasons, and would like to store my bike somewhere around Lima.

Is there any place to recommend around ? Safe and reliable.

Cheers,
jb

Let me know..

Hi, have family in Lima and Cajamarca (1hr flight to Lima). Could possibly have storage for you in Lima and for sure in Cajamarca... Also will be traveling south from Canada to Peru during the same time as you. May cross paths, Happy Travels!

Thank you Gordito !
It happens that I have a member of my family in Lima, so I will try through him first, but if he can't help me, then I'd really appreciate your help ! Cajamarca could be a good option too, as when I return I will head to ecuador.

cheers and have a safe trip too ! let's have a beer if we cross path bier

I used the above a few times. For storage needs I connected with a rider in La Paz, Bolivia who kept my bike. To return the favor I brought some motorcycle parts that he needed when I came back to Bolivia. You may have have custom fees doing this, but wen I pushed the button at customs, the green light went on and I wasn't inspected...

Do keep careful track of the number of days left on your temporary vehicle importation permit (TVIP.) Peru will impound your bike if you are one day over the limit, no fine, no discussion, lots of tears. Double check the dates on your TVIP like you have obsessive compulsive disorder. The TVIP dates may not match your visa! A rider I know lost his bike about a year ago when he tried to leave Peru after staying ONE day too long. :nono:
