Best route to Tierra del fuego

We are looking for the best (most things to see along the way) route to Tierra del fuego from Equador or Bolivia. Which route is the favorite one for most bikers? We have plenty of time.
Thanx

The best is a zig-zag between Chile and Argentina, both countries have very nice places to visit, other solution is to go south one side of the Andes and return by the other side.
Anyway, if you come to Chile and I can help you send me an email.

In Patagonia, don't miss the Carretera Austral: Trevelin, Puyuhuapi, Coyhaique, Cochrane (and a round-trip south if you can), and back to Argentina in Bajo Caracoles. It's been one of the most enjoyable ride of our entire trip. Much better than Ruta 40 in that area.

In the north of Argentina, however, Ruta 40 (again) is apparently much better than the Panamerican in Chile which is described as very boring.

We came down from Salta to Dean Funes, Cordoba, Mendoza, San Rafael, Chos Malal, and are now in San Martin de los Andes.
All the above towns were great and fun. The bits in between, almost without exception, were a terrible bore unless you like hot scrubby brush and roads that dissapear into the horizon. Not sure what the Chilian side is like to compare .

San Martin is beautiful, and I expect the same south.
Hope this helps,
Rene

Yep, I reckon the most interesting side of the continent is the west. In the northern areas my preferation is NW Argentinia, but don't miss some of the high mountain passes leading to Chile, the highest being 4.800m. And the Atacama desert has very interesting places like Valle de Luna, or the geysir at Tatio.

The best bet is, as stated above is to go south on one side of the Andes and back on the other side. The Carretera Austral is very scenic. So is the Ruta 40. But don't just follow the main route south (or north), but travel up into the mountains even if it's just a cul-de-sac. Very rewarding. The glacier parks in the south are magnificent both in Chile and Argentina.
