best place for shipping to Canada/USA from south america
 

I had originally planned to ride down and back up from Argentina, however a few days to fix my bike turned into a month long build on the way down, and a few days with family turned into just about two months in Mexico due to getting sick, and hassles with paperwork etc from school back home.
I'm too short on time to ride both ways now, but I would still like to make it to Argentina, or at least SA.
Is there country or port that is significantly less expensive/easier to ship and fly home from(I'd also be happy to go on a freighter if the price is comparable).
I'm wondering if there is a port on the western side that would work and be cheaper, since I want to end up anywhere along the west coast of the USA/Canada, though Vancouver, BC is my home(conveniently the largest port on the western side of Canada)

A common option on the west coast is Valparaiso, Chile. Many folks have shipped in and out by sea.

There was also a post a day or two ago about folks looking to share a container back to North America from Buenos Aires. One person mentioned that he met three Canucks who were also eventually planning to ship back. You may want to connent with him/them. If you can't find the post, let me know and I'll try to track it down for you.

'Nucks are currently still battling for first overall.

I haven't found any info on those Canadians, but I'd be interested in talking to the folks shipping from Buenos Aires too.
Any idea how much people tend to pay from Chile, or if it is a big savings to ship to the USA vs all the way to Canada?
