argentina insurance online
 

has anyone been able to purchase insurance online for argentina? I have tried atmseguros.com.ar without much luck. it seems more suited to locals than foreigners. i have read about buying in buenas aires but we are travelling overland and i think you need it before arriving at the border.

Indeed they do, remember the locals crossing into Argentina need to buy it as well :-)

Some borders (Los Altos, Chile) have booths selling it. Otherwise stop at a nearby town and look for a Rilpley store, they often sell it.

Ask around, there is always someone some where who can guide you.

If crossing from Bolivia to Argentina you may need to leave the vehicle at the border and get a taxi to the nearest town in Argentina to purchase the insurance.

who sorts out mandatory insurance for a lot of overlanders. All done via email and bank transfer of paypal. Covers all the southern countries Brazil around to Chile but not Peru.

Not the cheapest but you get off the boat insured.
