Argentina to Brazil border-no computer?

Are there any border crossings from Argentina to Brazil or Argentina to Uruguay where the Argentine officials do not have a computer to track the moto?

Hi Martin!

Take the boarder in Barracao (Brasil), a littlle south of Yguazu Falls!
The city is grown together, look to visit the monument of the 3 states (Parana, Santa Catherina, Argentina) take a couple of fotos and leave to the Brasilian side, take a Hotel and go back to Argentina without your bike!
Than leave Argentina leagel and enter5 Brasil, do not worry about the bike in Brasil. I entered 4 times and just once papers for the bike!

There are computers on this boarder!

Good luck Appie!

they probably do have a computer as well, but the only border where I have passed (entering Argentina) and they did not even bother filling in a form for the vehicle was at Paso de los Libres (triangle with Brasil and Uruguay ). It is a bit a chaotic border, at least the 2 times I passed there which where both on a saturday and I got the impression customs did not really know what to do with non Mercosul vehicles, so they just opted for treating them the same.
I think you better avoid the bordecrossing with uruguay where both argentinian and uruguayan officials are in the same buildings, they seem much more efficient.

Not that I know of. However I had lost my papers and my bike had been in Argentina for eight months. Quiet conversation and appeals for help/kindness/mercy won me new papers from the Customs. The most useful phrase is perdoneme. Maybe being on crutches helped - just an idea. Though I don't recommend being hit by a truck!
