Altiplano in January 2015

Hi

I did see in the posts someone planning a +10k km trip in 3 weeks, and the overall comment was that it was too short a time for such a long trip. Well, for those who live in the continent and can only spare a month of vacation time, those kinds of plans are somehow realistic (perhaps not reasonable and definetely butt-burning).

So it happens that I live in Salvador (NE Brazil), and planning a 12k km loop, crossing northern Argentina and the Chilean and Bolivian altiplanos (see map), for January 2015. Was wondering if there is anyone out there planning some similar route (at least part of it) for that time of the year.

Cheers

Hello Andy

Thanks for the prompt reply. You are serious about distances. Coming all this way up and then back down to Argentina. Fair dinkum! Let me know when you are about to reach Chapada Diamantina (in Bahia). I have been meaning to ride there in a weekend to get some extra miles on the bike. Meeting with you guys and have a chance to talk, drink a beer and exchange information would be one more incentive.
By the way, I know Chapada relatively well. May be able to provide some help if you need any info.
Cheers
