3 weeks in South America in Dec/Jan
 

Hi all

I am planning a three week trip in South America, ideally including Uyuni, Titikaka and some beach time (Peru or Chile). Keen to procure motorcycles locally and flexible as to where to fly in and out.

Any recommendations? And, is doing Uyuni in December a really stupid thing?

I'm planning to ship a bike down in Oct or Nov for a 6 month ride but in my research go-chile.com seems to be a good site to look at for what you are doing.

Wet season then so fair chance the salt flats will be flooded. That has its own attraction of course but riding a bike across it at 100mph might not be feasible. Getting from the town on to the lake might also be interesting unless they speed up the road works a bit.
