Cost for Honda XR 250

I am looking at doing a trip to South America and I trying to work out a budget. I like the idea of a local made bike. I was thinking of a Honda XR 250 how much should I budget for for a new a bike and also for a secondhand bike (just to give me a rough idea). Also a price on any other local bikes would be great (are there other local bikes)? If possible the price in US or Australian dollars. Any ideas for buying and selling would be fantastic.

Cost of XR 250 in Argentina
 

About 5 years ago Elisa purchased a Honda XR 250 new in Buenos Aires. At the same time, I bought a new Honda NX 400 Falcon. Costs new were $5,000 and $7,000 dollars U S respectively. But, you can buy second hand today for half or less than half of these costs.

Idea: buy in Argentina - second hand fix it up tour sell it in Argentina and travel on to another country and do the same.

You can make money on each purchase when you sell it in the country where you purchased it .... if you are willing to take the time to find a good deal and do the fix up yourself.

I know several overlanders who have financed their travels by buying and selling motorcycles....in each country they visit.
