Any good camping/hotels between Mostar, Bosnia and Podgorica

Heading out 17 June from Germany to Turkey. Need a safe place to stay overnight. Camping would be OK or a good, reasonable hotel. GPS coordinates would be great.

TIA,

Jimmi

Jimmy, if you heading from Mostar through Croatia along the coast, apsolutely no problems
to find safe and proper acommodation. I recommend you to look around and rent pension when arrive. End of June is high season and count on huge amount of tourists in Dubrovnik and souranding.

AnteK,

I appreciate the reply. I do plan to follow the coast most of the way and avoid the Kosovo area.

Thanks,

Jimmi

We came though this area a few weeks ago, like AnteK says, look for private accomodation, usually marked "sobe" or "apartamani". Ask around if you don't see many signs, the locals will find something for you. We typically paid around 10-15 euros for a nice room for 2 people. You will have to bargain for your room, typically people would ask about twice what they would accept.

And be sure to visit Sarajevo too, its only about a 2 hour ride from Mostar though beautiful countryside and its a really unique and friendly place. You can find out more on our blog here on HU, http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tstories/mcmillan/

Have a great trip!

I stayed at the same place in Sarajevo along with about 6 other bikers. I echo the above about Sarajevo absolutely! Please visit Bosnia in general (ideally before the coach hordes rediscover it).Great value too, good coffee 0.50Euros anyone...

Mostar to Sarajevo

I just passed from Croatia into Bosnia at Imoski. The guy at the border crossing made a huge fuss about em not having a green card. Tutting, walking back and forth, tutting some more and staring up at the sky. He finally took me into their office (read as shack) and the guy in there was tutting and shaking his head. Really thought I was in for a painful moment involving my wallet. He finally brought out a price list for cars and bikes and asked how many days. I took 7 and it cost me 4 Euros!

Anyway.... Get to Mostar and I would suggest riding the road to Sarajevo on a Sunday. The road is beautiful and really great fun but there can be alot of traffic. Those oncoming drivers either have balls of steel or realise that they would come out far better in a collision. Really was a beautiful road. I'd dare to say the most beautiful so far on my trip

Camp in Zubljak

If you're heading into Montenegro, there's a good campsite in Zubljak - the Ekocamp just out of town to the west.

It's the one on the left as you head up the lane, not the 'Diskount Kamp' straight ahead. 3 Euros for a tent or 6 for a wooden tent. Great kitchen to use too.

An old thread, but since many inmates are riding in Montenegro there is also one really cool place and it's between Zabljak and Trsa.
Name of the campsite is Katun, and they have regular camping area and also small houses for two persons, and a small restaurant too. Prices in almost all camping places are around 3 eur/person per night if you camp outside and 5-10 eur if you camp in these small houses, and these prices are more or less standard in Zabljak area.
