Accommodation in the south of Turkey

After 2 years riding my bike through Africa I need a nice accommodation in the south of Turkey for at least a month to relax and wait for better weather in Iran. I will be there in the middle of December. I would like to rent a apartment or a small house if it is not to costly. Does anyone has a recommendation for me?:helpsmilie:

Hello,
Winter is until end of March in east Anatolia and gas is most expensive here.. 2,2 euros per lt.now..Also life is minimum 3 times more expensive than Egypt countryside..If you dont change your mind and keen to spend the winter in Turkey, can recommend you some places in Kaş area where winters are not so cold.Pls.inform about your daily budget per day for the pension..

Eastern Turkey

Mehmet,

Do you know anywhere in Eastern Turkey where I can leave a bike for a few months?

Thanks!

Sorry no.
1-Because you must leave it to customs parking area after some paperwork if you are planning to leave Turkey without bike for a while..Maximum period is 30 days and must be extended officially each time before exceeds...

Have friends in all bordertowns just for safe address needs to pick up parcels, cargos, etc. within a short time..

According to the reason, different solutions for your problem may be possible.

All questions are friendly welcome.

Turkey

Mehmet,

I think I have found another biker who will look after my bike for a few months in Gaziantep. Do you think I will have a problem at the airport when I fly out? There is a small, round, red stamp in my passport saying that my bike passed "inspection" at the border.

What do you think I should do?

All of your help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Stamp on your passport shows the permitted staying period of your bike together with you and 180 days after the entrance..(360 for retired ones)

Twice a year (30.June--31.Dec.) name lists of foreigners who enter Turkey with a vehicle entrance stamp on the passports through land sea-air bordergates are collected at the headquarters of customs and checked..
So next time when you enter, you will have 2 entrance (1 with 1 without vehicle)...

Your name will be listed on red pages first week of July..So probably and luckily you will not meet any problems at the airport while exiting this time without bike and also if you make the following exit with bike before July..

It takes about 3 years for the fine to reach your address on the registration form..(If its yours and current)
You will meet the same fine at the bordergate during your following entrance after July if not paid yet...

Legal way is (No.1 vehicle entrance programme), you must apply nearest customs office with application form;
anex 7 if you have a safe place to keep it.
anex 8 if you will keep it at customs parking area.

Forms sent as private message together with english translations..

Hope all clear..

note...not enough space in your inbox here so emailed the forms...

I think I understand. The dates for me right now are to leave Turkey on the 21st of this month by air. Most likely I'll leave it in Gaziantep with another biker. Then I will fly back to Turkey at the beginning of September to cross into Iran a few days later and continue East with no plans of coming back in this direction.

My question is this... Will I pay a fine when I leave Turkey with the bike in September since it will be after June 30th? If so, how much will the fine be?

Thanks again for the help!!!!

Already emailed you forms..
Fines are written there in Turkish and English..
You and your local biker friend should read it carefully.

If it is found out that it is staying in the country in illegal ways, when you are not here, will be taken to police station and one who keeps it, also will be fined..
As I told you, it generally takes 2-3 years for this class fines to be ready...Fine will find you after several correspondings between ministries..

If you are lucky and fine is not entered on customs computer programme until you exit, you can easily exit!!!!!

For more details, can go to Gaziantep customs directorate together. You will meet friendly guys there...All gov. departments here are in our service/order and free..For official subjects, never trust the friendly guys you meet in streets..
