A place to stay and workshop in Adelaide

Any overlanders are more than welcome to stay, I've beds, hot shower, and a workshop and know what it's like to have a few creature comforts, I spent two and a half years on a bike and living in a tent.

So if your passing through Adelaide, South Australia don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Cheers

Robbo

Needed: workshop, welder

Hi Robbo,

My name is Mart Heijnens, from the Netherlands. I traveled overland to Australia and I am now in Qourn. I hope your offer is still valid. I had a roll over twice and need a workshop/mechanic and a welder to repair the bike. I have send you an email.

Thanks for your response,

Mart

Not good news Mart,

Are you ok? What happened?

I had a rollover twice on sandpatches in the outback. I am okay, some brushes and blue stains, bit of blood, painful bones but that's all. Helmet scratched, trousers ripped. The damage on the bike isn't too serious. The rack of my jerrycans broke (has to be welded), wind screen broken, steer distorted. More worryful: I lost quite some bolts and the bolts of the rear brake disc came out. I heard a strange noise but couldn't locate it. In Marree I discovered that the brake disc was loose. Bolts are damaged. I have to replace them all. Hopefully the disc isn't damaged.

I learned to ride a bit slower. From William Creek to Marree, 200 km: 8 hours. I enjoyed the outback riding.

Glad to hear that you're ok, despite the claret and colouring. Might be a good time to get rid of those road tyres and find some decent off road tyres as previously suggested! Twice already, making a habit of this will cost far more than good tyres! Use Loctite and nyloc nuts on the break disc, also closely inspect the wheel hub for damage.
