Thailand by motorcicle whithout guide?
 

Hello friends, I am traveling by motorcycle now in Kathmandu and I want to fly with the motorcycle by plane to Bangkok to visit Thailand. I would like to know if I can do it freely or is it necessary to hire a guide in Thailand. Other travelers recommend flying to Kualalumpur and traveling through Malaysia to Thailand and entering there without a guide. I await your news, thank you. There has not been very many overland travellers coming through Thailand post covid but as far as I understand none of them have been forced to have a recognised guide and permits. But I havent heard that Thailand has changed their laws - so you can still risk that the authorities will ask for guide and permits. Although as it seems now its not likely to happen.

When it comes to fly your bike to Thailand - as far as I know there is for the moment no wide body planes on the route from Kathmandu to Bangkok, which means that you have to fly your bike to Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia. Not a big deal as its only 480 kms from KL to the border to Thailand on fast flowing roads.
