Myanmar - Thailand - Malaysia - Singapore
Hello,
I want to travel till Singapore from India and I already know that Myanmar I need a guide and I saw the website of Osuga Myanmar Travels... but I don't understand how I'm going to do when I arrive into Thailand, do I need other guide? Can I ask for the guide in the border or need to be in advance? I have no visa necessity for land 15 days, I think I don't need to go to an embassy... I think after that, to enter in Malaysia and in Singapore I think that is the normal way, because I dont need visa (I'm from Portugal) Thank you very much your help! |
From 2016 also Thailand demands mandatory guides and permits to cross into and through the country for foreign plated vehicles. However the enforcement of that law at the different borders have been so-so and nowadays it seems that most borders dont enforce that law and most travelers seem to get through without having guide and permits.
Unfortunately for you there is still one bordercrossing that still seem to enforce that law with mandatory guide and permits and that is the Myawaddy-Mae Sot border between Myanmar and Thailand. That means that you will need to arrange permits and guide to get into and through Thailand using that border. It can not be arrabged at the border but had to be arranged well in advance. Same situation than you...
Hi Andre, I am Canadian. I am presently in India on a solo motorcycle road trip since last September. I bought a new motorcycle and I travel all around India since. Now I plan to extend my trip and wish to cross the border from India to Myanmar, Thailande, Laos and Vietnam...
I read so many contradictory information on the web about it. It's not helping me at all to understand what is the right procedure to do to make it legally. I already a contact (Rider Myanmar) who can help me to do all the paperwork and get me the authorization to cross the border to get in Myanmar and exit. Cost 800$ US and it take around 2 week to get it. Now I am stuck with the Thaï border and the others... Someone told me AsiaSens Travel do this kind of services, consulting and paperwork for authorization to cross the border peacefully. I wrote to them and wait for answer. Maybe we can share our information about it and who know make the trip together. Best regard, Eric Poirier |
