If ya planning on coming inta Kuala Lumpur wiff yah non Malaysian vehicle I can confirm that you don't need insurance to get ya carnet stamped, AAM ( Automobile Association Malaysia ) is a live and kicking in Shah Alam. They'll relieve you of ya hard earned Ringits for 3rd party vehicle insurance & ya ICP ( international Circulation Permit ) which you'll need to be legal on the road. I actually got my insurance from Liberty under written by the MMIP ( Malaysian Motor Insurance Pool ) .
