my mate robbie
Robbie could not have been more valuable or a better person to have as a friend in indonesia. Even before I had met him in person he was helping me find good motorbike mechanics in jakarta when my bike was overheating and being my official translator when the English barrier arose (which is often in indonesia). As I arrived in solo he had dinner waiting for me and checked me into a cheap but good hotel near his shop. He helped source parts, stored my bike for a month when I had to return home for work and introduced us to a number of his contacts along the way.
So thanks so much robbie (and your family) for helping me out so much. Hopefully your next visitors wont be ao needy!! |
Andrew,
It is a pleasure to us here, see you some where,sometime....keep rolling buddy.:funmeteryes: |

Colossally ripped off
What a huge disappointment this so-called 'mechanic' turned out to be. Doesn't even know the limitations of his own abilities, or those of mechanic he hired.
After 9 months of being there and having my 'engine rebored, valves and piston changed', it turns out NONE of it was actually done. Above, he writes "Evacuate to our workshop from Yogyakarta, got broken piston, broken ring, bent 4 valves, broken pushrod, broken water pump, broken oil pump, broken sleeve, you name it.done in 24hrs." what complete and utter rubbish. Got totally stuck there for a week because first he told he me he could work on the bike and THEN I find out he never even knows how to work on carburettors...then he charges me for a complete engine overhaul which he never did. More interested in massaging his ego and showing off photos with foreign bikers, than doing the right thing. No apology, no responsibility taken, nada...first he took all the credit for work his mechanic did, and when it turns out that none of it was done, then it's his mechanic's fault. Disgraceful. Keep well away. Don't get ripped off. Roby, you should be embarassed for the (lack of) work done on my bike. You've cost me a fortune now and your lack of professionality, coupled with your lies, make it all the worse. This review will be posted everywhere, so that no one else gets ripped off. You need a piece of equipment in Indo? Sure, buy it there, but don't let this guy anywhere near your bike. |
I dont need debate this "drama queen". your bike has been rejected since first inspection for a day repairment without any parts for old, wreck and tortured bike that passed countries.
As you beg and insist for "bush" repairment that i never want to do for non sense budget and incredibly fast.i told you to load up your bike to bali because of visa limitation, remember? youre lucky we help you,and you finished to bali as you requested on bikes.i even pay for some of your part from my own pocket because i pitty to you.and on the last you want your money back that you never pay on that ammount? now whose the scammer by black mailing someone? does your money enough to pay return recovery car,5 days labour and parts also your husband bikes repairment for free? and now you ask for your cost for stayed in bali and everything that i never know? i never know there was 9 month visa for tourist.you ride your bike from my site to bali and australia after repairment.youre ridiculous.its overhaullin infront of your eyes.should i post some pics? Youre just one upset guest of my hundred happy guest, you just want to create drama to be written on your book, blog to sell? ah its good sensation to gain your audience.did you ever notice your own mistakes? chat captured and cctv evidences can proof.pic above may describe how we treat you and all guests well as my hospitality. my broken english? well its normal,i bet you got broken Indonesian language too.haha my advise mrs.Laura pattara, later if you want to make a world journey, prepare your funding.not by making money on the road.just as you told us selling your things to continue, rather than pay colossally usd300 for repairment and parts, and recovery car.i never willing to earn money from globetrtotter just the same feeling as a rider to rider. get real...grow up.get adult Laura. |

You can distort the story anywhere you like. You can write 1000 sentences, about everything, except the facts.
"Evacuate to our workshop from Yogyakarta, got broken piston, broken ring, bent 4 valves, broken pushrod, broken water pump, broken oil pump, broken sleeve, you name it.done in 24hrs" None of this was done. Why lie? Only to boost your ego. You are immature and totally unprofessional. You don't know how to run a business, and take any responsability. End of story. The only thing you know how to do is take photos with your camera, obviously |

Shame on you Laura. :Beach: |
You really don't get it, do you?
You changed the piston rings, the ONLY thing the bike needed. A one day job, at most. Instead, you kept me there for a week, all that rubbish about Toyota piston, and Maza valves and all the ...what did you call it? 'mechanic kung-fu'? All so you could rort almost 6 million rupeehs from me. But who cares right? farangs are just walking ATMS anyway... You are a dishonest and insanely arrogant man, that's all there is to it. And that's all anyone else to know. With 4 HU posts covered now, there will hopefully be far fewer riders you can steal from. My job here is done. |
checkpoint in Java
@ Laura.
Thank you for warning others here on the Hubb. I understand how difficult it is to deal with smiling and incompetent mechanics, but I guess you learned your lesson as well - as we all do every day. :scooter: mika |
