Where to go in Spain ?

Hi

Travelled through Europe a fair bit but I've never been to to Spain. planning a trip for about ten days and need some ideas, will be coming from the UK . Looking for good biking roads , well away from the tourist areas ,getting off the beaten track :mchappy:( riding a V strom at present so quite happy to ride on tracks or trails ) and experiencing the real Spain .

Any advice greatly appreciated. :D

Cheers

Neil

The western parts of Spain are pretty devoid of tourists. If you take the ferry to Santander, that would be the quickest way to get there, don't miss the Picos de Europa. Then either cut westwards to Galicia or trail down along the portugese border to he region if Extremadura.

Nonetheless, if en route, take a look at the old towns like Santiago, León or Toledo (that's wher Pizarro, who conquered the Incas, was born).

The Estrella mts in Portugal are quite scenic as well.

Vaufi's said it exactly as I would, except for that ferry; better to ride through France and enjoy its great landscapes and towns etc.

Finisterra is a great, quiet region; enjoy the Atlantic coast.
