The end of the year at the end of the world

Don't forget that Xmas and newyear is celebrated by many bikers in Ushuaia. Usually at campsite Rio Pipo, a very nice place to relax and exchange stories.
I actually hope to be there myself again this year.

And on the way down south drop by Viedma and the travelers-meeting of Oscar.

Better late than never I guess!

Guys,

Have taken all on board and have delayed my plans a bit. I want to spend some time in th US and central America before heading further south. Maarten thanks for the tip, hence planning to start from Phoenix in Jan now.

As my plans are flexible, need to plan out my year to end up in TDF for dec 2008. Bmast will keep you posted all along. Patrick thanks for the advice, hopefully ride with you somewhere in the future.

Regards Mojo.

Tierra del Fuego in April

I was down there for the last half of April. Most days were overcast, but still some sun. Snowed heavily one day in Ushuaia. Sketchy in the mountains to the south. Some light rain and plenty of wind. One advantage (if it is an advantage): I didn't see another motorcycle.

Have a great trip-
Marcus

Is it doable in early November?

Try post #15 on page one of this thread. Is there any more to say? Start at paragraph two.

I'm sure others here have more time in Usuhaia than I do....but I did get to know the place pretty well.

We were there mid November last year. It was generally fine although it got down to around -3decC and was snowing at times however we were still camping. The Garibaldi Pass nearby got quite interesting when it was snowing even though its only 400m above sea level. Vehicles slipping all over the place (including mine which fell on its arse)
