Transport from/to Kyrgyzstan for a motorcycle

Hi Guys and Gals,
Has anyone used or heard of the following company?
Europe - Asia - Motorbike shuttle service
They transport bikes from Austria to Kyrgyztan and back for about 900euros each way.
I planning a trip May 2020 and it sound interesting but I can´t find anyone who has had any expearience with them.
Cheers!bier
Nick

I haven't heard of the outfit you mention, but I can definitely recommend ADVfactory | for transporting bikes from Poland to/from Kyrgyzstan. They will also ship your bike from anywhere in Europe to/from Poland before and afterwards too.

Thanks Chris, I have just taken a look at ADVfactory after reading your post. Looks like that could be an interesting option, but according to their website the earliest trip they do is the beginning of June and I am planning for May.. Still it is an option. bier

Might be worth checking out the weather/snow/ice situation in May in that region, especially the Pamirs.

Yeah, I reckon a few of the higher passes may be a problem but on the other hand it gets seriously hot later on in the summer..., but I´m still in the early stages of palnning right now and I´m sure I´m gonna find lots of problems as the date gets closer. It´s a point I am looking into though as I can imagine it could be a big problem. The trouble is I have to back for work by mid June.. Hmmmm

"a few of the higher passes may be a problem" !!!!

Please do your geography and weather research! A lot of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan could well still have snow in May. Many areas and roads are over 2500 or 3000 meters. OK, Bishkek and Osh are lower. And the road in between? The Kyrg/Tajik border is at 4300m. Most of the Pamir highway south of the border is at 4000m with a pass at 4655m...

Not sure of your riding ability and if you're on a fat euro-bomber with the entire Touratech catalogue bolted on, or riding a lightweight dirtbike and you've drilled holes in the handle of your titanium tooth brush or somewhere in between...

For some pictures from this August/September check out @BrightysJollys on Facebook or Instagram

I´m riding a KTM 790 AdvR with minimal luggage and camping gear, but a seriously heavy toothbrush:-) . I´m pretty proficient off road and I am ok doing long days in the saddle. I´ll be fine for a trip like I´m planning, but the weather is something I´m really trying to get an idea of (and of course the transportation). I suppose weather conditions change a lot at the kind of elevations you mention. The BrightysJollys facebook page looks informative, thank for the tip there.
There´s another traveller called Geoalex on youtube. he did the same route in April and seems to reckon that the end of May should be perfect... So many opinions and so little time it seems!.... I´m gonna be flexible as regards the route so that I have route options based on the local weather at the time. :-)

I quote Chris: I sent my Honda CB500X from Bishkek to Italy in 2017, and everything runned super smoothly!
I strongly recommend ADVFactory.

Yep , thanks chaps for the tip. I´ve been in contact with ADVFactory and they make it sound really easy. I´m gonna be in Bishtek around mid June and then they will store the bike and hip it back around the 8th July.... Brilliant , and a really good price too. I am sorted now, so now it´s just all the fun planning left to do ..:scooter:

Hi Nick.

Look at You Tube :

Itchy Boots : was driving in the Pamir in April 2019, she had snow on the border between Kyrgystan and Tajikistan over 4000 meters, but other than that it looked fine.

GeoAlex : was also driving in the Pamir in april/may and had snow on Ak-Baital Pass at 4655 meters, other dann that it was fine.

Very nice You tube movie.

Hey Nick, I'm starting a trip at may 20th from Bishkek to the Northcape. Via Pamir hwy, a few Stans, Turkey etc... Maybe we can meet an join together for the Pamir depending on your dates etc?
My BMW R1200GS will be shipped by Loxx Pan Europe in Germany, but that can be to far for you due to the distance to Pleidelsheim in Germany?
Jon

Radzz 24 Feb 2020 12:17

Hi Jon,
I´m riding in the opposite direction to you. I´m starting my trip in Europe and will finish around the 15th June in Bishkek. Sounds like we will be crossing paths at some point so , yeah, lets meet up for a chat, but, it sounds like we´ll at the Pamir at different times and going in the opposite direction :-)
