Through Turkey into Geogia

Planning to enter Georgia from Turkey this year.
Can't decide on which entry point to take.

The plan is still flexible as far as where we enter from Turkey.

The time in Georgia will limited to about 5 days?

Basically do a loop and come back in to Turkey.

I need some help, what should we NOT miss?

Will be 2 up/ camping /Vstrom / or hotel/ dirt / bit of rough ok / NO mud!

sorry title should read Georgia ! Can't edit it.

I used the border near Batumi on the Black Sea when I went through Georgia in 2012. It was quick and without any problems.

Don't miss Stepantsminda and the Georgia Military Highway. There are lots of homestays available in this area, someone will likely ask you before you even switch off your engine (don't accept first price). They're usually very basic but nicely authentic. Some will have wi-fi and most will include all meals.

Don't worry about the trip

Turkey - Istanbul to Hopa follow the north coast line.. Wonderfull. Sarp gate to Georgia. fast and very close to Batumi. Stay there 2 nights. Then to Tiblisi. 450 km. Just be carefull for the trafiic. NO RULE and DENGEROUS TO RIDE or DRIVE.
Tiblisi is nice.. 1 day is enough for that city.

Thanks for the feedback, Sarp ( nr. Batumi ) was the one I expected to here of most.

Wonder if anyone has crossed in/out at Kartsakhi lake border?

I would consider doing a loop - enter at Sarpi / Batumi and ride over to Kutaisi; two great caves just outside of the city; ride into Tbilisi (one day is enough in the city); take a ride up to Kazbegi (Rooms Hotel is great).

Suggest to ride over the Gombori pass and into Kaheti (stop at Chateau Mere for the best food) / Alaverdi monestery / Telavi and back around via Signagi and then to Tbilisi.

For the return, ride the Koda / Taskla route and after Ninotsminda stop at the Vardzia caves; upwards to Akhalsikie and back into Turkey via Vale border crossing.

The Koda / Tsakla / Paravani lake / Ninotsminda highway is a biker dream - twists / great road / scenery. Must fuel up at the beginning as there is limited fuel on this 180 km stretch. There is now a Wissol station at Tsalka but sometimes there is no power and hence no fuel.

If extra time, ride to Dmanisi (archeological dig). Great German guest house / hotel in Bolnisi (Hotel Deutsche Mühle Bolnisi)
