There's no minute like the last minute - 5 day trip in Scotland

I'm heading to Scotland next Thursday, and the wife and I will be taking a motorcycle trip starting the following Monday from Inverness. The bike is going in for service Monday morning, and then we're going to head out for 4 nights. Only requirement is that we be back in Aberdeen Friday afternoon (say by 1p). I tend to be very optimistic in my trip planning, and my original route had us doing the entirety of the NC500 and a loop through Skye. I've pared it back a bit, and below are some links to routes I'm tossing around in my head. I will be packing all my camping gear, but we're not dead set on wild camping.

Up first is a a stop at Applecross (this seems to be frequently recommended), and then a loop through Skye:

Next option is Ullapool, Stornoway, and Skye:

Last one is the NC500 with a stop in Applecross:

Thoughts on my proposed routes? Am I being overly ambitious for the amount of time we have?

Personally, I like your first option although I'd love to ride the Hebrides. If you're foodies, and don't mind paying for good food, try out the Three Chimneys for lunch on Skye.

Edit: suspect this should be moved to Trip Planning

For information ................

I caught a brief news item a few days ago to the effect that there has been some "industrial action" recently with the ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne.

Maybe stay on the mainland for 4 days??

I did 5 days total riding up from Edinburgh to Durness in a day then 4 day down the west coast all wild camping, magic !. There are some great spots but not too easy to find. I would stay away from the longer ferry routes. The smaller ferries are much more fun and not mobbed by buses and tourists. Best stop on my whole journey was the west coast of Mull, idyllic !.

Enjoy !

+1 for the Outer Hebrides (Skye is in the Inner Hebrides).
