Am planning trip from Amsterdam to Cape Town starting october.
Want to visit West Africa via Tombouctou and back up North via Algeria, then on to Libya, Egypt, Ethiopia etc.
Does anaybody know about the situation at the moment in Southern Algeria, is it safe to cross from Mali via Tamanrasset into Libya?

No - go via Niamey and Adagez to Tam from there east it is safe but I doubt you will get into s Libya now (se my Sahara site for news)
