Shanghai

We want to fly (or ship) our bike (and us of course) into Shanghai, any tips on the bike getting into China, bike paperwork etc, length of stay allowed for the bike and other relevant info or links to other relevant info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do a search on the site for China and you should find the answers you are looking for......which is basically that China is a nightmare for importing a foreign motorcycle. The legal requirements are a Chinese driver's license, a Chinese registration, and a guide while riding the bike. All of this is possible, but very expensive and requires a lot of legwork.

Also, I believe that Shanghai is taking steps to ban all motorcycles in the center of the city. Perhaps this has already happened.

If you are thinking of only riding in China, I might recommend buying a local bike over there as it will be a lot less hassle. Chinese motorcycles are small, but VERY cheap.
