San salvador to cancun

Hi all, we are 4 bikers riding from Ushuaia to Alaska in stages over a period of a few years.

Currently heading north this week from San Salvador to Cancun on old Honda Africa Twins.

Any tips on places to see, things to do, good hostels along the route and of course any nice restaurants/bars etc would be most appreciated.

Maybe even bump into some of you on the trip.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe a stop in Santa Ana and do some volcano hiking?

Then Antigua in Guatemala, there is an overlander stop there somewhere, I missed it.

Lake Atitlam with many different towns and villages around.

Chichicastenango - with Guatemalas most lively and colorful matket twice pr week.

Quetzaltenango - second biggest city ln Guate. I did volcano trekking there with Quetzaltrekkers. They have an office in the same building as a dirt cheap hostel with safe parking too. Look on iOverlander for more info.

Coban, interesting mountain town with etnic villages spread around.

Temuc Champey - world known riverpools and trekking.

Flores and Lake Peten Itza - for some relaxing days.

Tikal ruins - very impressive Maya ruins deep into the jungle of northern Guate. A must see in that region.
