Russia to Japan

Peter, hi there!

I assume your best bet is going from Vladivostok to Japan. A German biker (Diethard) did this a couple of weeks ago (with some minor difficulties which were solved thanks to lots of help from other bikers). You will need a carnet de passage. Diethard had a guy in Russia (Vladivostok??) who was of great help (I hope he will also comment on your post). Coming from Vladivostok you will go via South Korea to Sakaiminato in Japan. You will have to get mandatory bike insurance here (Diethard paid something like ¥5.000 for 1 month). Once you have decided which way you want to go, please contact me / us again for more information.

Hope this helps a little, take care and safe riding

Insurance ....

Hi Peter and NO - that would be way toooooo expensive.
¥5.000 is right now something like 55 Euros - so not that bad?!
Elsewise, yes, please contact me again once you are approaching Japan
or the general area.

Take care and safe riding!!
