RTW Trip - need advice

Hi all !

First , please excuse my english mistake :)

I'm 33 yo, French, and i'm living everything this summer to make my RTW trip for 1 year minimum. It will be my first big travel with a motorcycle (thinking of an Africa Twin ?? ) , but i'm actually "cracking" with my actual personal situation (work / society,...), and want to see something else, want to take some time for myself, personal developemnt and also really think of what I want to do of my Life! (yes quite a big subject!)
For your information I drive motorcycle since i'm 14, I was doing the French Supermoto championship in the past, also some enduro with some friends... so I hope my motorcycle skills will be enough for such plan!
Concerning my international experience, I lived 6 month in London, 6 month in India, and lot of regular trip in China (work) , a trip in Thailand for 3 weeks last year with Honda CB 500x rent there... I hope it will be enough!

The idea is to leave France around middle of June (i quit my job end of april, time to finalize the organisation and the visa... ) and to go east side, at the beginning i would love to reach south east asia (thailand, myanmar, laos, cambodgia,..) but as it seems to be really difficult for the paperwork, someone advise me to ship the bike directly to malaysia, than doing indonesia and australia.
I first plan to go through Iran, India, Nepal before shipping it to Malaysia but I still do not find any solution to arrive India from Iran (no reply from the Pakistan ambassade for the moment) ... and in order to avoid the rain season in India, I plan a little detour by the North Cap :)

If I don't find any solution from Iran to India, I was also thinking going east directly from the north cap and so going into Russia, than Kazakhstan and Mongolia, finish in Vladivostok. According to the planning , ship to South America or Malaysia depend the time left before my meeting.
The positive point is that the "Carnet of passage" will not be needed for this plan, right? i'm also a little afraid of the weather in the east russia (if I left the north cap beginning of July... ) , end of October in Vladivostok? 4 month is enough? I'm also thinking that I will meet less people, as I don't speak Russian...and the idea is also to meet people!
Any advice of travellers ?

6 month after my leaving, I will have a meeting in south America with one of my friend (Buenos Aires or Santiago), who will travel with me for 6 month, from Ushuaia to Canada by the American West coast. Normally for this part of the trip, the paperwork will be easier, as no need Visa in advance, or "carnet de passage" as I read...

I'm open to all possible advises as it will be my first international trip by motorcycle! I already learn a lot thanks to this website which is kind of a Bible for motorcycle travelers!

If anyone also plan a similar trip / same place, feel free to contact me!

Good afternoon guys! and thanks in advance for your help !

Hi Victor,
Some people ride to Iran then ship from Bandar Abbas to Mumbai but when you get nearer the time try again for a Pakistan visa and search on here for up to date information about the chance of getting one.
If you enjoyed the Honda CB500X when you rented one think about taking that model, it is a good bike for the trip.

I will check this solution ! thanks for the advise and of course continue trying to get a Pakistan Visa!

Concerning the bike, yes it was ok for a short trip and without offroad, for a RTW I don't know... and honestly i'm looking for a bike with 21/19' wheels, not 17"... :) as I plan to do some offroad too and not stay on the road...

Hello Victor!
I'm 22 and leaving in November for the same kind of trip!
See this thread for further information about it : http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...020-come-97663

Here's my itinerary : https://planificateur.a-contresens.n...neraire/156651 (you should plan your trip on this website, it is simply amazing !)

Regarding your schedule and planning it seems to be complicated to ride together but if possible I would be happy to !

Which @T would you choose ? XRV or CRF ?

Regards,
Hugues
