Rome bike storage needed
 

Hello everyone, I will be carrying on my trip where I left off and I will need to store my KLR650 for about 3 weeks, somewhere in or around Rome, where I will catch my flight back to London on 13.10.2013. If you know of a place or have some space to offer for my bike it will be much appreciated.

Have you thought about contacting the Communities? there is someone in Rome

I did try to contact the communities with no luck, a few weeks ago. I ll try again. Thanks.

There are other communities in Italy if noone answers in Rome, someone might be able to help. If it's just for 3 weeks I can offer a corner of my garage, but unfortunately it's 500 kms away from Rome, just next to Trieste Airport. ( served by Ryan air)

Thanks for the offer, at the moment it's not very convenient if it is that far from Rome but if one day I come your way I ll let you know to see if the offer is still up. I' ll try to find other communities, although it' s a bit tight, I'm heading to Gatwick airport now and I hope to find something when browsing the net when not on the road. :mchappy:

Another possibility : Airport parking in Rome and Orio al Serio Airports

Not particularly "low cost" , at least not for a cheapskate like me, but 3 weeks parking will cost about 60 euros for 3 weeks at either Fiumicino or Ciampino Airport.

Thanks for your suggestions and research, I haven´t ignored you, it´s just that I have been constantly busy on the road, looking for hotels and parking. I am going to Ciampino now to check how parking works, otherwise I ll leave the bike in a private garage not far from the city centre, they are ok with me leaving it for 3 weeks with all the boxes on top for 55 euros.

Hi, cannot help with storage in Rome but if u are looking for good, cheap hotel in Rome with secure parking try Hotel Club House Roma. Cost £38 for double inc breakfast in August this summer. Andy

Thanks for the tip, it's a bit late now but it could be helpful for someone else or for a future trip.

Parking update.
 

I finally left my bike in a private car park. I paid 55 euros for a month and I left all my boxes on it. Whether this is good or bad, it was the only option left to me, I did not have any replies from other communities and at the hotel they did not want to take any responsibility for something that was not part of their policy although they had plenty of space to park just my motorcycle.
The car park is in Rome, close to one of the tube stations and not far from the city centre. I ll go back there in 3 weeks time and will keep heading south.
