Roads nth/south of Dodoma in Tanzania
 

Hi to all, just done the dirt roads from Iringa in southern Tanzania through Dodoma then nth to Mt Kilimanjaro, well im not at Mt.Kil. yet but i can see it. What i want to say is the roads are reallyyyyyyyy ROUGH. But like all tough stuff its good fun all the same. If u get a chance do the roads and im sure ull have a nice time. My general speeds on the DR650 where/are about 30klh. Massive rocks, fair sand patches, wash outs and the lovely corrigations. There is more to it all but u need to see for yourself. Also while your out there stay in Dodoma, unlike my Lonely Planet book, and check it out. Fantastic Place, People and Markets. I just love the Tanzanian so far. Road situation changed completely!
 

Okay, update on those roads, travelled them 3 days ago:
Iringa-Dodoma (A104): mostly in perfect tarmac condition, about 30km gravel and some detours, but nothing serious. Make sure you drive 50 kph in the villages, plenty of police around
Dodoma-Singida (B129): perfect tarmac
Singida-Babati (B143): perfect tarmac as far as I remember
Babati-Arusha (A104): Til Tarangire perfect, after that under construction
