Its probably easier to get Dean (the Russian tyre dealer on this forum) to supply and have them waiting in Irkutsk for you.

What kind of bike are you riding? As long as you are not planning to do over 130 km/h you will be fine with the Heidenau off road tyres he has (I found a K74 rear and K69 front a decent dirt combination).

The other option, is if your plan is a loop, from Vlad, to Irkutsk,to Magadan ... take the dirt tyres with you on the bike to Irkutsk. The road from VLad to Irkutsk is just asphalt. Normally I wouldnt advocate carrying tyres, but if you have specific tyres you want to take that Dean doesnt have, then you might as well ride with them, since there is no challenging riding there for which weight or load balance would be a major issue.

Bike is a Suzuki DR650 thumper. Will have 21" x 1.6 Front and 18" x 2.5 as the stock setup is not what I what for off road. Luggage is Andy-Strapps Adventur Bags (they look the same as the pannier bag you have Walter from the fotos).

Carrying tyres does suck, But I was thinking that the tarmac section from Vlad out would be ok on an old set of road/trail rubber. And I fit Desert's (have used them out here quite a bit), I noticed that you (Walter) used them this year out bound from Magadan.

Was thinking I'd go Vlad to Tynda, Yakutsk, ust neda, Magadan, Magadan (maybe old summer rd, bepends if weather is OK, and if I can find a ride buddy), Yakutsk, Vilyuisk trakt, Irkutsk, UB mongolia, , russia, More planning into Stans, Turkey westen Europe.

I think a totally new set of deserts will probably JUST be able to get you from Tynda to Magadan, back to Yakutsk and Irkutsk. Its about 8000-8500 km and will be all off road apart from the last 250 km into Irkutsk. You will find some tyres in Irkutsk to get you back to Vlad. Or order some K60s from Dean to be there in Irkutsk when you arrive.

I use in my solitary expedition to Magadan this summer (2010) following tyres:
1) from Bucharest to Chelyabinsk - Pirelli Scorpio (original tyres of the bike)
2) from Chelyanbinsk to Yakutsk - Metzeller Tourance
3) from Yakutsk to Magadan and back to Yakutsk - Mitas 09 cross tyres (very good choyce because winter and snow got me in Road of Bones)
Now my bike is garaged in Yakutsk and I continue (in one way or another) the journey next Jully
The bike is a Aprilia Pegaso 650I.E. (2004) start with aprox 9.000 km on tachometer.
