The roads in Lithuania on the whole are of excellent quality, especially the main routes going from Vilnius to the coast, Kaunas etc.
Driving leaves a little to be desired but on the whole, i felt no more concerned than rush hour on the M25 when i travelled round by car last year.
The country side is nice but don't expect mountains etc. Plenty of lakes and pine forests. The Lithuanian people i have met are some of the nicest people i have ever met while travelling but outside of the large towns and cities, english speakers are rare, Russian is the preferred language.
Food, and petrol are cheap but be warned, sometimes there are quite large distances between petrol stations. I did not see many motorcycles when i was there but would advise on 2 piece leathers so you can wear jeans sometimes.
If you are going to be spending anytime in cities, renting an apartment is a cheap option. €50 a night for a large apartment that could sleep several and if in the old town of vilnius/kauna, a courtyard suitable for parking bikes as well.
