A place to stay overnight in Southern Finland
 

Hello,

Me and my brother are newbie motorcycle tourists from St.-Petersburg, Russia. We are planning an extended weekend trip to Finland in April, to test the waters so to say before our larger trip across Europe in May. We are going to check our abilities to ride many days on end while staying for a night alternately couchsurfing AND backpacking.

So, my question is: which wilderness place would you recommend to stay motorcycle-backpacking in Finland? It has to be Southern Finland/Karelia, as we don't plan to ride a lot from St.-Petersburg yet.

P.S. Our tentative plan is to start with couchsurfing in Savonlinna, then backpacking somewhere not too far from there.
