Pennsylvania to Alaska

Hi Everyone !

I'm planning a trip to Alaska leaving Allentown Pennsylvania on may 19th.The bike is a 95 BMW k75. My idea is travel through Canada heading from here direct to Toronto and from there to Fairbanks, AK. I would love to go to Pruedhoe Bay but I'll not have the time to do it. I only can count with 30 days round trip.
If anyone could give some advise on what routes should be better for me I would appreciate.
Thanks,
M5

A quick search on mapquest says that you are looking at 4346 Road miles between these 2 points one way.
multiplied by 2 and divided by 30 leaves you traveling in the neighborhood of 300 miles a day every day.

If this is your intention then I would suggest staying on the faster highways such as the trans Canada (#1) to Brandon then catching the Yellowhead (#16) to the Alsaka Highway (#43).

Then depending on your time remaining possibly drop down through British Columbia and pick a straight line home back in the U.S..

Given your time lines I don't know any other routes that might allow you more time to sight see.

PA to Ak

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the info.
I know that 30 days is a short period of time for a trip between this 2 points specially because there's a lot to see but is all I have so far.
I've been looking at the route you suggested and I liked. This is probably what I'll do.
Thanks again,
M5.

My wife is from Kalamazoo MI. she goes home very summer for 4/5 weeks and drives so she can have her own car there. Takes her 2 days to go Calgary-Kalamazoo 1750 miles. The shortest route for her is is Chicago, Minneapolis, Fargo, Truck, Minot, cross the border at Portal N.D., then off to Moose Jaw and Calgary. From Calgary you head north to Edmonton, then Dawson Creek, B.C. Mile "0" of the Alaska Hiway. You should cut off a few miles vs. going through Brandon. She used to go Calgary to Great Falls, MT. and head east on I90, but we've figured this down to be about the shortest route.

Iskaa,
I'll consider this route (opposite way) on my way back home.
It could be a good option.
Thanks for your help.
