Overland: from Italy to Japan
 

Hello everyone,

Me and my wife are planning our very first overland trip from Italy to Japan.
Period: this summer.
Motorbike: BMW R1150R

Since few days ago, I had the idea to make a round the world trip, passing through US and then back to Europe too, but air shipping seems crazy expensive at the moment, so I decided to change my plans as it follows:

- Departing from Italy and visiting ex Jugoslavia, Greece, Turkey and Georgia to get into Russia.

- Reach Mongolia and Ulaan Batar, and from here trying to reach Beijing (I was thinking to get the bike into the Transiberian Train maybe? Just to avoid the mess I could face in China?)

- From Beijing reach Shangai (worried about traffic and chinese road conditions)

- From Shangai take a ferry to Japan (osaka) and then coming back to Vladivostok - Siberia and Moscow

I'm already contacting embassies and travel agencies to get all the infos about documents and stuff.
We already got into vaccines program.
I still need to find a fix for my cervial problem but... I will figure that out somehow :thumbup1:

Hi, maybe we see you on the road, we are also going to Japan with our campervan. But we will take the route over stans and mongolia and then vladivostok, no driving back.
We also don't go into China because that is a bit difficult with the car.
