newbie: route suggestion and ideas?

Evening all.. New member, and relatively new to touring. I did 1000 miles around the North of France on my Thunderace in a week in summer '05, and 1500 this year around the South of France on my Firestorm in 10 days.

My normal ride is a 2003 FJR1300, but it was off the road after a mishap on some gravel, hence using the Firestorm this year.

Anyway, I'm looking ahead to next summer, and I'm contemplating
a route around Europe taking in various roads I know of, have ridden, and woud like to see: namely the Stelvios Pass, Route Napolean, Gorges du Verdon, Gorges du Tarne and the Millau bridge (not to mention the Autoroute leading up to it: ever been on a motorway with hairpins!?)

Below is a rough outline of the route I'm contemplating. Are there any minor detours that I can add to it to take in anywhere worth visiting? I'd hate to have missed something for the sake of a 50 mile detour.

Cheers

You could look into going to the Vercors natural park. The Grand Goulets are there and they are a very nice looking road. Looking at your route you could go North to Grenoble and head from that area to Pont en Royans via Villard de Lans. That will take you through the Vercors. Info here http://www.grenoblecycling.com/the-Vercors.htm
If you do get through it, I believe you will not be disappointed.
When are you thinking of going?
Before you actually go that way though make sure the road is open. It was closed due to a landslide last year, but was meant to re-open in 2007.
