Morocco Route Advice

Is piste from Agouti to Amejgag passable?

We're off to Morocco just after Easter, and so have been sat down with the 959 researching places to go and routes to get there. One place of interest is the Cascades d'Ouzoud, east of Marrakech. We'd be coming at it from the west, but want to link up with the Dades valley to the south afterwards. There's a piste from near Agouti to Amejgag marked on both the 959 and the IGN, but it's denoted as very minor and crosses two passes at 2910m and 3050m. As there are both bikes and 4WD in the group I was wondering if this piste is actually doable, especially for the 4WD.

Advice from anyone who's been through there would be invaluable, as it's a long detour around to either the east or west.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I see you went to Morocco over Easter! How did it go?I'm planning a trip in September for 6 weeks and I'd be interested to hear of any Do's and Don'ts regarding your Route...

Cheers...Simon

The trip was great fun and the country is well worth a visit. In the end I didn't get to the Cascades, which may have been for the best as I did a fair bit of riding elsewhere. Anyway, if you fancy reading about the trip, surf to http://iain.woolley.net/Trips/Maroc2001
