Mongolia to Kazakhstan - fastest way & transit visa
 

Hi there,

I'm planning to buy a motorcycle in Ulaanbatar and thean head towards Europe via Central Asia. I have two questions regarding the route.

1. Does anyone know how many days it takes to get from UB to the Kazakh border? I'm asking as my Russian Visa is just valid 30 days and the time I'll arrive in UB 10 to 15 days will be gone already. So, can I leave Mongolia, cross Russia and enter Kazakhstan in 10 to 15 days?

2. Is there any way of getting a Russian transit visa in UB? So that I can finish my Russian visa while in Mongolia and then cross RUssia to Kazakhstan with a transit visa.
