Hi jondoe,

the direction you want to follow is more determined by your personal preference and your initial geographic location. Of course, you do want to ride in more pleasant weather, and avoid heavy rain and snow and misearable cold (and hellishly hot sunshine).
That said, if you're in Slovenia and leave in November, I guess Africa is a good direction. Europe should begin to be too cold and damp, so you want to visit outside of winter. The Sahara is probably best traversed in the winter months. South Africa isn't too far south, so shouldn't be too cold by June/July.
As for Tierra del Fuego, it seems best to visit in the southern summer, i.e. from December to March, but you could also make it in the shoulder seasons, like October and maybe even June, but I think they get snow and bitter cold in the winter (our northern summer).
As for North America, any time of year is good, depending on where you are. 99% of Canada, central US and north eastern States are not good places to be in the winter. Too much cold (we now have -15C in Toronto!) and snow. The south is ok in the winter.
The other potential worry is rainy seasons, but especially hurricane season and monsoon in Asia. The Hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean is roughly in late summer and autumn.
Then there are your own time and financial limits, and they might be bigger constraints than weather alone.

Sorry, forgive my ignorance, Vojvodina isn't in Slovenia.

HI!

No problem, enyway if u haw not realised yet Vojvodina is in Serbia & Montenegro(SCG) it is the north province of Serbia.
But it was in the former SFR Yugoslavia with Slovenia,so u ware not that wrong, and it's not that far from it,as both country's could be considerd to be on Balcans..

Africa seems a good idea to me,the bike transport is all so cheeper from S.Africa than from Australia(plus india-tailand & singapore-darwin)

cheers
