how do latvia and estonia compare in terms of shipping bikes to there and ease of then getting into russia?

I rode to Latvia in five relatively leisurely days back in 2010 and there're ferries from Lubeck/Rostock in northern Germany to both Riga and Talinn. Don't know about shipping.
